The announcement was made by Apostle Remi Owode, the chairperson of the burial committee, in an official statement.
The weeklong burial program will take place at Galilee Land, the international headquarters of CSMC, in Orile-Igbon, Oyo State. This event will draw members of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement both locally and from the Diaspora, along with various dignitaries from different fields.
According to the statement, the deceased will be interred in his mausoleum at Galilee Land on April 27, following a burial service at the Galilee Church auditorium. The service will be led by Reverend Daniel Okoh, President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
“The burial activities will formally begin on Monday, April 22, with a Service of Songs at the Galilee Church auditorium, hosted by the Youths, Women Fellowship, and Children Ministry, under the theme ‘The Place.’ On Tuesday, April 23, the second Service of Songs and Tributes will be held by the Councils of Pastors, Prophets, Evangelists, Teachers, and Model Churches.
“On Wednesday, April 24, there will be sports and a night of tributes, featuring football and handball games by students from C&S College in Ilorin, Kwara State. Tributes will be delivered by representatives from the Galilee Land Committee, the Funeral Committee, community and family representatives, as well as representatives from the UK and USA Diaspora, the Unification Church, OAIC, and CAN churches.
“On Thursday, April 25, Baba Aladura’s body will be transported from the mortuary to Omu-Aran, Kwara State, his hometown, for a celebration and lying-in-state service at Ile Nla, Omu-Aran, and GSS Field, Omu-Aran. The body will then return to Galilee Land later that day,” Mr. Owode stated.
The statement also noted that Friday, April 26, will feature a twin program of a wake service and ‘Praise Night’ at Galilee Land, as well as a ‘Night of Tributes’ by the conference secretariat, management committee, Conference Advisory Committee, family, and Board of Trustees (BoT) of the church.
As part of the burial arrangements, the burial committee, led by Mr. Awode, visited various district headquarters of the church in Lagos, Ibadan, Ilorin, and other cities to inform and encourage members to participate in giving the late prophet a befitting burial.
Baba Aladura’s Passing and the Appointment of a New Leader
The news of Mr. Abidoye’s passing was initially announced by the church’s secretary-general, Apostle Ademola Odetundun. Recounting his final moments, Mr. Odetundun shared that the deceased had breakfast and, while preparing for service, decided to rest, passing away peacefully afterward.
Following his death, Emmanuel Alogbo was appointed as the acting spiritual head. Before this appointment, Mr. Alogbo served as the chairperson of the Kingsland District of the church in the Oko Oba area of Lagos State.
